Joel Moranton Photography
We are pleased to share our fourth ever Fremont Art Walk Reception, featuring art work by Joel Moranton. Joel is showcasing a wide variety of beautiful nature photographs from his collection. He primarily uses a Canon camera as well as incorporating other cameras and photography equipment in order to capture amazing moments. All of his photographs can be viewed online at www.moranton.com . Joel's artwork will be up in the store for viewing and purchase throughout the month of July.

We are also pleased to announce a wonderful special event on the evening of September 10th for all readers and writers to attend called Storytellers: The Process, and Their Latest Books. There will be a panel of three fine Washington authors: Garth Stein, Jennie Shortridge, and Thor Hanson. They will discuss the craft of writing, read excerpts from their latest books, answer questions from the audience, and meet with readers during a reception. Mark your calenders for a chance to attend this amazing event on Wednesday, September 10th at 7pm!

The Other by David Guterson is the story of a working-class teenager in 1972 Seattle, Neil, a middle of the pack kind of guy, befriends trust fund kid John who is passionate and obsessed with the world's hypocrisies and alarmingly prone to bouts of tearsover a shared love of the outdoors. Guterson nicely draws contrasts between the two as they grow into adulthood: Neil drifts into marriage, house, kids and a job teaching high school English, while John William pulls an "Into the Wild", moving to the remote wilderness of the Olympic Mountains and burrowing into obscure Gnostic philosophy. When John asks for a favor that will sever his ties to the hamburger world forever, loyal Neil has a decision to make.
